I can barely contain my excitement as I share this life-changing news with you! After years of waiting and hoping, a major turning point in our lives has arrived: my second-pillar pension from Switzerland will be paid out later this year! That means our time in beloved – but at times challenging – Portugal is coming to an end. 🌅
But more than just financial freedom, this blessing unlocks the door to a long-awaited dream: starting fresh in the Philippines, Penky’s beautiful homeland. We're investing part of this payout into building a cozy Bed & Breakfast in Davao City, on the stunning island of Mindanao.
🏝️ Why Davao City?
Davao City is a vibrant urban hub surrounded by natural beauty. It’s also Penky’s hometown, so she knows every nook and cranny like the back of her hand. We believe it’s the perfect place to build a warm, welcoming retreat for travelers from around the globe.
🧳 Preparations in Full Swing
So much is happening behind the scenes:
✅ Planning the move: As a returning overseas Filipina, Penky can bring a large box of household goods duty-free. That’s a huge relief and lets us take our personal items along with us.

A quick stop in Malta to visit Penky’s nephew on the tranquil island of Gozo.

A weekend in Bangkok to relive some old memories and feel the city’s unmatched energy.

A short visit to Singapore, a dream destination of mine.
